I absolutely love using my Tarot & Oracle cards to deepen my understanding of myself and untangling the complexity of what it means to be human.

How I use Tarot and Oracle cards in my daily life

I use cards to connect with myself in a way that bypasses my logical mind and mental to-do list. This allows me to see things from another perspective and open myself up to creative thoughts and ideas.

The way I do this is through creating spreads, which are card layouts designed to explore a specific question or theme, resulting in practical action steps that can be applied to my daily life.

I do this on special lunar events, such as the new and full Moons, and also once or twice a week to support where I am at the time.

This is a form of therapy, self-care, creative expression and spiritual growth for me, and I believe it’s an essential part of my personal development practice.

Why I started creating Tarot and Oracle Cards spreads

In the beginning, my readings felt fluffy, unstructured and unhelpful. I enjoyed the experience of working with my cards, but really struggled to apply the guidance into my life in a practical way.

I started creating spreads because I:

• Wanted my readings to have a purpose, and I didn’t want to waste my valuable time
• Was seeking practical guidance and support
• Needed a way to view my reading relative to my life
• Was looking for a way to connect with my growing deck collection
• Was keen to learn Tarot more deeply and found spreads a great learning tool

By creating spreads for my readings, I experienced all these things and more.

How I get practical advice from my cards

To get practical useful advice that can be applied in the real world, it’s important to ask the right questions.

It’s so easy to unintentionally ask your cards something open ended or vague, and the result is something open ended and vague. By getting clear on the question or theme you are working with, the results of a reading can be mind-blowing.

It’s also important to relate your reading to where you are right now, to get practical guidance that can be applied into your daily life.

And I also believe you should return to the journaling of your readings afterwards to use hindsight as a tool for learning and improving your skills.
